About The Role
Cambridge Design Partnership is different. We are a world-class product development consultancy driven by technology but inspired by meeting end user needs to create commercial success. To achieve this, we have a wide range of capabilities from science through engineering to industrial design. Our expertise is delivered by teams who specialise in the requirements of three major industry sectors: Healthcare, Consumer, and Industrial. Our Tobacco Harm Reduction (THR) group works across both Consumer and Healthcare and is a leading provider of electronic nicotine delivery (vaping, ENDS) product development services to the principal operators in these markets.

Working closely with our research, design and technology business leaders, your objective is to manage client relationships, working with a handful of clients across multiple programmes. This is a key position for us in which you will nurture the relationships we have developed and grow the account by navigating and identifying future opportunities with other contacts and departments within the client company. Your role will be to understand your clients’ perspectives and motivations, then lead your team of project leaders to ensure that our proposals and delivered work meet those needs. Coming from a technical background, ideally within product or process development, you will have a good working knowledge of how technical projects are delivered and the ability to explain how our capabilities can be harnessed to deliver these work packages. As a natural communicator and team leader, you’ll naturally be looking to introduce new prospects to CDP.

CDP has been supporting THR clients for over a decade and provides a wide range of services ranging from user research, product development and transfer to manufacture. We use qualitative and quantitative techniques to develop user insights that inform our design and engineering work. Aerosol engine development is undertaken utilising our analytical laboratory and in-house prototyping workshop. Our manufacturing team develop the processes and equipment required for volume production, and work alongside our manufacturing partners.
Product development is multifaceted, and we provide a growing range of complimentary services such as regulatory support (ISO13485, PMTA, etc), insights & strategy and digital innovation to ensure our client projects benefit from a competitive edge. Our solutions start at the point a business decides upon the need for innovation and finish with the launch of a breakthrough new product that is customer-focused and set up for commercial success. We work across all major next-generation categories as well as analogous, medical and therapeutic sectors, which all plug into our overarching mission to improve lives through innovation.
