About The Role

Contractor role covering maternity leave

Cambridge Design Partnership [CDP] is an end-to-end innovation partner focused on helping clients grow. Some of the world's largest companies and brands trust CDP to design and develop their most important innovations. Our Insight and Strategy (I&S) team successfully delivers creative solutions to meet the business ambitions of our clients at the front end of the innovation process.

The Insights & Strategy team is now looking for insight/user research professionals who have proven experience in primary qualitative research; using both online/digital and in-person approaches. You must be proficient in the full research project cycle from proposal development, research design and moderation, insight synthesis and translation, to generation of compelling reports and other media to present back to senior client stakeholders. The role will require you to work with a multidisciplinary team of strategists, designers, scientists, and engineers.

About You

You have demonstrable experience working in a design/brand consultancy, market research agency, or client-side in a consumer insight role, with an impressive track record of human-centred, evidence-based research, and project/programme management. You will likely currently be in, or have recently been in, a Research Manager or similar role.

You will be comfortable with both traditional and innovative research methodologies; including secondary or desk-based research. Qualitive research experience is essential, whilst prior application of quantitative research; including survey drafting and data analysis, is advantageous but not essential.

We are looking for:

  • A track record of qualitative research design, research moderation, insight synthesis, and delivery of recommendations to senior clients, both written and presented.
  • Experience of managing external research recruitment, moderating platform, and survey partners to ensure accurate and timely delivery of work for multiple concurrent client projects.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to inspire colleagues with the added value of consumer-driven insight.
  • A drive to understand people and cultures and a willingness to travel nationwide and overseas to conduct primary research in a variety of cultures and contexts.
  • Commercial experience applying primary user research techniques in consumer and/or healthcare markets; including at least one of the following: FMCG, consumer health, consumer technology, tobacco harm reduction, medical devices, pharmaceutical/drug delivery, diagnostics and life sciences.
  • Working knowledge of GDPR requirements and experience of conducting research in line with the code(s) of conduct and guidelines for the relevant industry society or association (e.g. ESOMAR, MRS, BHBIA).
  • minimum GPA of 3.4, preferably 3.6 or higher degree in social sciences, design, physical sciences, engineering, or other degree backed by strong commercial experience.
