About The Role
At CDP you will be developing products that make a real difference, in a wide range of drug delivery systems which improve peoples' lives. Your role as a Senior Drug Delivery Devices Engineer, will offer you the perfect opportunity to lead projects and use your technical knowledge to offer innovative solutions to our clients. 

Working within our multidisciplinary teams you will be responsible for developing innovative mechanical engineering designs and for leading technically complex projects for our pharmaceutical, drug delivery and medical device clients. You will often be a technical lead in sales calls, help to write proposals and support client management. You will use your in-depth specialist technical knowledge to help drive important development projects toward success. We offer a flexible and hybrid approach to our work and this role will be based in our Raleigh office.
About You
  • Extensive track record of leading drug delivery device development projects, from concept through design verification and tech transfer
  • Highly creative and high technical skills in many of the following areas: concept generation; engineering and statistical analysis and detail design; design of experiments; design for high volume manufacturing (over one million devices per year); development methods for high reliability such as QbD
  • Practical experience of healthcare industry-specific regulatory processes: working to Quality Management Systems such as ISO 13485 and 21CFR820; risk management to ISO14971; design control; compilation of Design History File; verification and validation; clinical trial support
  • Project leadership skills to empower the team and drive development efficiently and effectively towards well-defined goals
  • Good degree in Science or Engineering
  • Experienced at presenting concepts and results in a compelling way
  • Commercial awareness gained in one of the following environments: devices development / engineering department of a medical or pharmaceutical company; technical / design consultancy; technology start-up
  • Ambitions to learn and develop further technical, project leadership, and business development skills
  • Practical workshop and prototype testing skills, supported with a robust understanding of engineering theory
