About The Role
We are looking for an Insight & Strategy Consultant to join CDP's team and help provide clear, high-quality project recommendations to our life sciences and healthcare clients. You will provide structured, well-evidenced commercial, technical, user and clinical insights to build successful client relationships. You will start by supporting business development and taking a leadership role on complex innovation insight and strategy programmes within our diagnostics and life sciences group, supporting our experienced senior team in developing this high-growth market sector at CDP.

The main duties of your role will be conducting sector-focused primary and secondary research to generate the market, user and technical insights needed to develop business relationships and deliver impactful projects within diagnostics and life sciences markets.

This role will offer you the opportunity to build on your existing, proven expertise and deep technical experience within insight & strategy; including market research, clinical understanding, strategy development, workshop design and facilitation (face-to-face and using online tools), commercial analysis, business case development, and IP and technology landscaping.
 
About You
  • Extensive experience in market research, strategy or business development roles within a relevant industry sector
  • Track record of leading key market research and strategy projects within diagnostics and life sciences for major players or emerging start-ups
  • Experience of providing impactful strategic advice built from developing insights for leading companies with diagnostics and life sciences – including interviewing experts and clinicians
  • Commercial experience and clinical understanding within major market areas, such as oncology or infectious disease
  • Demonstrate a business entrepreneurial mind-set, identifying and developing opportunities for clients as well as internally as a employee of CDP
  • Realised commercial value through working on strategic projects or business development. 
  • Obtained a good degree in a relevant subject (biology or biochemistry, medicine, pharmacy) or a business subject (economics or marketing) followed by extensive industry experience within diagnostics and life sciences
  • Familiar with typical processes, workflows and equipment used in the life sciences and diagnostics industry 
  • Articulate, knowledgeable and up to date with industry challenges, trends and emerging technologies
  • Confidence and ability to present your ideas and results in a logical and compelling way 
  • Exceptional organisational, time management and IT skills
  • An interest or experience in cell and gene therapy, synthetic biology or digital health would be desirable
  • Additionally desirable will be strong experience as a workshop facilitator or development of financial models for evaluating business cases
