About The Role

As Software Engineering Manager (US), working closely with the Head of Software, you will provide leadership for CDP’s growing software capability both internally and externally.

This will involve:

  • Providing close sales support for new software and multi-disciplinary opportunities
  • Detailed technical and delivery-focussed review of ongoing software projects
  • Technical project and programme management expertise on active projects
  • Contributing to department and company strategy
  • Mentoring and coaching team members
  • Developing the CDP’s software engineering capacity and capability
  • Driving recruitment activities (both permanent and contract) and ongoing personal development activities for the team
  • Deputising for the UK-based Head of Software as needed
  • Ensuring that CDP’s culture grows with the business
About You

We expect that you’ll have strong experience of successfully developing, owning and delivering software projects, preferably in both the embedded and digital spaces.  You’ll know that software engineering is about understanding and solving the problems of our clients in the right way for them, understanding why we do things the way we do them, and following through with on-time, on-budget delivery.

You’ll be comfortable in early stage commercial conversations with potential clients, proficient in supporting CDP’s efforts to close sales, and ready to find solutions to both technical and logistical challenges of delivering software-only and multi-disciplinary projects.  Success for you at CDP will be measured by the level of service the software team provide to the rest of the business in support of client projects and internal initiatives alike.
