About The Role

As a Consultant Design Engineer you will be responsible for leading and developing mechanical designs for a range of products and processes in the consumer, healthcare, industrial and energy sectors.

Working alongside our exceptional teams your insight, creativity, attention to detail and drive will allow you to apply and develop your technical and project leading skills, progressing your career and broadening your knowledge and experience.

About You
  • Degree or a HND in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Design
  •  Experienced in Design for Manufacture and Assembly including typical low to high volume manufacturing processes.  Injection moulding, CNC machining, sheet metal are essential.
  • An in-depth knowledge of Solidworks 3D CAD or similar, including surfacing
  • An understanding of 2D tolerance/engineering drawing
  • Excellent presentation skills and an effective communicator
  • Ability to manage day-to-day client relationships, whilst project leading, responsible for quality, profit and project planning
  • Strong creative and technical abilities in many of the following areas: Concept generation; System level design; Engineering analysis and detail design; Prototyping and lab testing;
  • Preferably experience in one of the following environments: technical / design consultancy; technology start-up, product development department
  • Bright, conscientious and creative with an ability to demonstrate a hobby or interest with a practical or technical relevance
