About The Role
We are seeking our first in-house lawyer to lead and shape all aspects of contracts management in this exciting period of growth across the globe served from our beautiful offices in Cambridge, UK and Raleigh, NC USA. This is a wonderful opportunity for a highly motivated hard-working lawyer, perhaps looking for your first in-house position, to join us and work directly with our senior leadership team.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Leading all aspects of contract management, reporting to the MD
  • Internal customers will be our Partners and market sector leaders for client contracts, HR for employment contracts, and Project Leaders for supplier contracts
  • Shaping our contracts management process, policies, document organisation
  • Contracts including: our templates, confidentiality, terms of business, service agreement, employment, contractor, supplier, IP licensing.
  • Negotiating agreements with prospects, clients, and suppliers
  • Updating our own contract templates
  • Monitoring and preparing for changes in legal requirements including contract law, data protection, post-Brexit trading
  • Tracking and filing process
Support is available from our external law firms and barrister, as well as provided by HR and senior Partners.
About You
  • Law degree grade 1st or 2:1
  • Around 4 to 5 years Post-Qualification Experience of drafting and negotiating commercial contracts in a leading law firm
  • Experience of legal differences between UK, USA, EU, Far East jurisdictions
  • Experience drafting IP licenses is an advantage
  • Highly motivated to serve and collaborate with commercial colleagues
  • A skilled negotiator: firm, persuasive, efficient. A passion for negotiating!
  • Pragmatic approach to achieving commercially acceptable results
  • Highly organised, diligent, with attention to detail
  • Calm and composed under pressure
