About The Role
As Regulated Software Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading, building and extending the regulated software team at CDP, developing new procedures and techniques, and recruiting additional team members with relevant capabilities. You will work closely with sector teams to create compelling communication materials for this capability. The role will include client-facing activity where you will present our capabilities in regulated software development capability accompanied by one of our business developers. 

You will be responsible for structuring, designing and leading implementation of software for a range of product applications including clients within our medical, drug delivery and diagnostics healthcare sectors. You will have the freedom to advise project leaders on the best way to structure and plan developments, and the responsibility to deliver successfully according to the plan, to quality, time and cost targets.

You will work with clients to define requirements, leveraging your experience in developing software within the relevant regulatory frameworks and processes and most importantly see the results launched into the market. With an entrepreneurial attitude, you will push the boundaries of what can be achieved.  From marketing requirements through architecture to final validation, you will have the ability to demonstrate evidence of understanding the value of work undertaken and strive for excellence.
Key Highlights
  • Helping clients identify and visualise how we can help them realise their software developments - defining road maps, identifying key challenges, defining ways to achieve the long-term goals and helping the client build confidence in our team 
  • Architecting systems and planning out the development approach with the software team and collaborating with all capability teams to ensure efficient and compliant project scope and delivery 
  • Improving awareness, and helping build capabilities in software techniques, and s/w-h/w partitioning to meet the performance and safety requirements of a product, developing and defining the engineering processes, such as coding standards, workflow and tools.
  • Key technical involvement in safety critical product or system development, leading and mentoring junior engineers to develop and deliver excellence
  • Subject matter expert in safety critical systems
  • Keeping abreast of relevant standards and understanding methods for efficient implementation and usage
     
 
About You
Essential:
  • Practical experience of software design and development to IEC62304 and similar environments
  • Solid working knowledge of formal software design methodologies
  • 1st or 2:1 degree in Computer Science, Software or Electronic Engineering or similar subject from a leading University
  • Experienced in working to tight deadlines, you will be comfortable with evangelising our capability to clients
  • An expert in your field with the ability to lead and manage projects successfully
  • Self-motivated and accustomed to getting on with tasks with a thirst for new technologies
Desirable:
  • Experience in embedded C, C++, C# or Python.
  • Experience in architecting and development of enterprise software
  • Commercial awareness gained in one of the following environments: device development; engineering department of a medical or
  • pharmaceutical company; technical / design consultancy; technology start-up.
  • Experience of automotive, rail or airborne software development standards
