About The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and self-motivated senior innovation or management consulting professional to join our team. You will play a key role helping to develop and deliver our industry-leading Front End of Innovation (FEI) services, lead targeted business development, and help deliver actionable, evidenced recommendations to clients from the earliest phases of an innovation enquiry.

Working closely with our research, design and technology business leaders, your objective is to help build new, profitable business for CDP. You will bring enthusiasm, extensive consulting experience, and strategic thought-leadership to the delivery of FEI projects for some of the biggest consumer and healthcare businesses in the world.

Your ability to help clients frame their challenges effectively and create evidence-led roadmaps will allow them to act on the insight and enable business opportunities to reach full potential. In many cases your strategic recommendations and creative ideas will grow into full scale product development programs.

You will have a natural aptitude for spotting future trends and commercial opportunities in the market, a keen interest in human-centred brands and technology, and love talking with senior executives and prospective clients.

You will thrive on the creative stimulus that comes with working in a multidisciplinary team. Building on CDP’s established ‘Potential Realised™’ approach, you will support the development of both internal and external facing best practice frameworks, such as new training and workshop products and services, and successful innovation-culture.
About You
  • Higher degree in Business, Design, Marketing, Engineering or Science discipline, 2:1 or above.
  • Able to apply extensive experience of working with multinational consumer and/or healthcare companies in a research, strategic innovation or management consulting capacity.
  • An expert in leading successful strategic innovation activities, including opportunity assessment and reporting, and inspirational facilitation skills for structured where to play, how to win? workshops.
  • Personal drive and experience to work both independently and with other business leaders, to undertake new business development - lead qualification, framing of the right brief, pitching, proposal writing, negotiating terms and conditions and closing sales from your existing network, conferences, networking, and cold approaches.
  • Develop and manage new and existing client relationships aiming at the £m+ range.
  • Implement skills that will add value to CDP’s FEI offer, and contribute to strategic marketing, global industry thought-leadership, and team recruitment.
  • Balance business development with leading and contributing to project activity, maintaining ultimate responsibility for the client relationship and commercial success of projects as they transition from FEI into full product development.
  • Inspirational presentation and reporting, and an effective verbal and written communicator.
  • Understanding of the new product development process, and models for successful innovation.
  • Able to work as part of a rapidly growing team to aggressive timescale and with strict attention to quality.
